With Series 5 I have a loose theme for the visuals. I will only be illustrating the Comic Book Poems using a limited selection of traditional media (Promarker Pens and Fineliner Pens). I limited myself to this media I wanted to experiment with style and illustration, as opposed to tools and format.

For Lovers Turn To Monsters I decided to put the five lines of text on the first page and create a series of panels to reflect the story. Please see the Writing a Comic Book Poem – Lovers Turn To Monsters blog post to find out more about the story. With this Comic Book Poem I did want to concentrate on Character and style and this is reflected in the second page, where we see a character study of the ‘Monster’ character. Here we see the Monster develop as a character and see his confusion and motivation. This also carries on from a style set in Series 5 of Comic Book Poems – mainly in the Comic Book Poems Last Night, This Morning and Tonight. I would also like to point out that this format will be seen again in this Series 5 of Comic Book Poems.
